Biography: Gildardo Rivera is a full professor and the head of the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the Center of Genomic Biotechnology, National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. He received his PhD. in Medicinal Chemistry in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Monge, at the University of Navarra, Spain. He has been a visiting professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and the University of San Antonio, Texas. His research focused on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of new molecules as anticancer, antiparasitic, and antibacterial agents
