Biography: Dr. Rocío Marisol Espinoza Chávez is a Peruvian medicinal chemist and Assistant Professor at the Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, Universidad Científica del Sur (Peru). She received her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil) and holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (Peru). Her research is centered on medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry, with a particular focus on the design, synthesis, and optimization of bioactive small molecules. Her work integrates synthetic chemistry and structure-based drug design approaches to develop new therapeutic candidates, especially targeting neglected diseases such as Chagas disease and leishmaniasis
